My children
keep getting bigger
Perhaps you are familiar with the situation.
The last rearrangement of their bedroom space had me building some custom bunk beds after being sucked into the depths of Pinterest's cave of wonders (it is so hard to stop!).
We split the room height in half, built and painted the framework, installed bookshelves, curtains, and reading lights.
The bunks look great. But due to my inevitable contortions during their construction, I had discovered a flaw not revealed in all Pinterest's offerings (or elsewhere on the internet).
When parents make the beds in the mornings or say goodnight at the end of the day, they miss something important –
One child lays looking up at the label on the underside of a mattress.
… Plus 12 wooden slats. Not picturesque!
Lay on their bed for a moment and take a look
I did
I thought my daughter deserves something better.
A board could be fixed to the slats and painted, or patterned material could be stretched and stapled. I can do things like this. However, I wanted a simple solution that is easy for everyone.
Posters would solve the issue. They are wonderful, they look great, and they roll up easily for posting.
But rollable artworks are meant to hang vertically on walls. Installing them horizontally on the underside of a bunk would cause unsightly sagging. For this job, the posters should print onto a rigid base. Problem solved!
The new problem was: how to get rigid posters that measure approximately two metres by one metre through the post to caring parents.
We needed the help of a big man!
After mental struggles for a few months, the famous British comedian Greg Davies came to my rescue.
Greg is hugely funny, but more to the point, he is over two metres tall!
And you can buy a full-size cutout of him if you want one, here!
I found out how this sizeable and marvelous artwork is prepared for delivery and applied that process to Sistine Posters. Problem solved, again!
All the equipment needed and instructions on how to install Sistine Posters come in the package.
Fastening anything to a surface above your head will involve some primeval noises from you. But hopefully, fewer than other methods you might use to make your child's life a bit brighter.
The images chosen for the posters are not of superheroes or exciting scenes to brighten moods. We are talking about bedtime here. Hopefully, the pictures will intrigue, relax and even entertain quietly and encourage restful sleep. Visit our shop to see what we mean.
Not all bunk occupants are youngsters, so our collection has selections for all ages. If there are any subjects that you think we should include, please let us know by clicking here. We would be pleased to hear from you.
May you and your family have a great sleep tonight.
